Marwood proves the right Type

MARWOOD TYPE, owned by the Enniscorthy partnership of Davey Morris and Pee Tobin, proved an impressive winner of the Rex Colgan Memorial Cup for bitches at Castletowngeoghegan yesterday.

Morris also trains this bitch puppy, which collected an Oaks ticket at Edenderry, and she powered to a four length victory over Dermot O’Sullivan’s Vacume Runaway in the final.

O’Sullivan was also on the losing collar in the deciding buckle of the Derby Trial Stake when Vacume Leader found Cinderella Man four lengths too fast. The winner ran up for a similar event at Limerick City and he extended the excellent run being enjoyed by Athenry trainer, Gerry Holian, who handles this brindled dog for his brother Basil.
