DAVY RUSSELL has wasted no time in landing a plum job following his split with Middleham trainer Ferdy Murphy.

The talented rider, from Youghal, Co Cork, will be first jockey to Naas trainer Michael O’Brien, for whom he rode a winner and a second at Leopardstown on Sunday.

“I asked him the other day when he came home from Ferdy Murphy’s if he would like to ride for us,” O’Brien said.
