Ted beaten again as Ahane has all the answers

LAURELS winner Tyrur Ted met with his fourth defeat in a row as Ahane Lad went through the Tinys Bud Open 550 at Curraheen Park unbeaten when taking Saturday’s decider in 29.73.

Owned by the Over The Bar Syndicate, from Castletroy, Limerick, and trained by Owen McKenna, Ahane Lad had also beaten Tyrur Ted in the semi-finals but the layers again had Tyrur Ted the 5-4 favourite with the winner freely available at 5-2.

Following a level break, Ahane Lad showed the best early pace to lead into the bend from Lenson Tom and Tyrur Ted. Ahane Lad had gone clear by the third bend by which time Tyrur Ted had taken up the chase. Tyrur Ted was doing his best work at the finish but never held out any hope of catching Ahane Lad who had three and a half lengths to spare at the finish.
