Walsh battered but not broken

RUBY WALSH escaped with just severe bruising after a crashing fall in the opening race at Sligo last night.

Initial reports from the track were that the rider had fractured his collarbone when Double Tree fell at the first flight in the Wednesday August 17th At Sligo Maiden Hurdle. But subsequent X-rays at Sligo General Hospital revealed there had been no break.

Walsh returned to the course with his arm in a sling. It is not known how long he will be on the sidelines for.
