Corkerys hit the jackpot at sales

THE Corkery family from Grenagh, Co. Cork hit the jackpot at the Curraheen Park sales yesterday when they sold three of the five top lots for a total of €11,000.

David Corkery's Crust Breaker made joint top price of €4,200 when he was knocked down to Swift Leisure of Tipperary, after he had carded 29.10 when winning his pre-sales trial by five lengths, while his mother, Ellen, received a similar amount when Buckingham agent Ian Kibble was the successful bidder for Elldan Classic, a litter brother of Crust Breaker.

The black had won his trial in good style when carding 29.18, scoring by two lengths.
