Progressive Sandy looks the one to beat

THE progressive Satin Sandy can land the Boherduff Light & Griddle Bakery Backgraders final at Curraheen tonight.

The John Linehan trained runner has been in sparkling form in recent weeks, completing a five-timer, trap to line fashion, in 28.74 last week.

In a contest made up entirely of inside seeds, Satin Sandy has the best of the draw and can hit his rivals for six!

Jeffs Pacific, drawn in two, is another on the upgrade but may struggle to get inside Satin Sandy at the opening bend.

Four-times winner Stamford Cosmo, a length runner-up behind Jeffs Pacific last week, is another to consider but has been done no favours by a three draw.

Burgoyne Henry looks the part in the final of the Mini Market A3 Backgraders Stake. Joan Cremin’s three-times winner blazed the trail when carding 28.97 last time and looks certain to play a leading role.

Obvious Claim, who stayed on well when a three lengths second behind Burgoyne Henry, should again be thereabouts.

Linehan can also collect with 31.30 course and distance winner Historic Moment in heat three of the Droopys Stud 575.

Historic Moment will be suited by stepping up in trip, having met trouble in running over shorter distance in his last three outings.
