Supreme third in France
The Willie Mullins-trained nine-year-old occupied the same placing in the Group Two contest 12 months ago before going on to glory in the French Champion Hurdle.
The race saw a shock win for Rock And Palm, who edged out hot favourite Cyrlight close home.
Mullins’ Raikkonen and Homer Wells, plus the Nicky Henderson-trained Geos, all finished out of the frame.
On the same card, 15-times French champion jumps jockey Christophe Pieux secured his second Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris when he guided Sleeping Jack to a thrilling victory over Ma Royale.
Long-time leader Lord Carmont was third with Dean Gallagher fourth on last year’s runner-up Kamillo.
