THEREALBANDIT is the new favourite for the Hennessy Gold Cup as punters piled into Martin Pipe’s charge following the publication of the weights yesterday.

The master of Pond House had originally targeted Our Vic for the big race at Newbury on November 27, but he is absent through injury.

Therealbandit will contest the Lombard Properties Handicap Hurdle on Saturday as a warm-up for Newbury, where he has been allocated 10st 13lb, provided the Francois Doumen-trained top-weight First Gold makes the journey to Berkshire.
