Babington and Carling King lift Irish spirits with La Baule Grand Prix win

“ONE of the better ones” was Kevin Babington’s description this week of his superb win in Sunday’s La Baule Grand Prix with the ever-reliable Carling King.

The Carrick-on-Suir rider made sure Ireland did not leave the French fixture without having a say, following a disappointing performance in the Samsung Super League opener on Friday when the team placed equal sixth.

Babington was the only Irish rider to redeem himself in the cup, posting a clear following an eight-fault first round.
