Ballincollig begin Super League title defence away to Limerick Celtics

Ballincollig will begin the defence of their Domino’s Men’s Super League title with a trip to Limerick Celtics on October 3, while Domino’s Women’s Super League champions Trinity Meteors host Career Decisions UCC Glanmire, in a repeat of last season’s Super League playoff final. 

The release of the 2026/27 season fixtures comes as Domino’s has been announced as title sponsors of the Men’s and Women’s Super League and Division One for the next three seasons.

Ballincollig, who won the Domino’s Men’s Super League and Domino’s MSL National Cup double last season, lost their 2025/26 season opener against Limerick Celtics but defeated Tony Hehir’s side in the Domino’s MSL National Cup semi-finals and the Super League playoff quarter-finals.

“The first game of the season is always exciting and has a distinct feel and energy," said Ballincollig player/coach Ciaran O’Sullivan.

"The result won’t define any team, but you certainly want to set the tone for the season ahead and try to integrate your new players as quickly as possible. 

"Limerick Celtics showed last season that they are a highly competitive team, reaching the Domino’s MSL National Cup semi-finals and the Super League playoffs, so to win away from home in Limerick will mean we executed at a high level.” 

Newly promoted Limerick Eagles travel to Dublin to take on St. Vincent’s. Garvey’s Tralee Warriors, under new head coach Gareth Moore, host Belfast Star; Killester, with Mike Olsen, at the helm, face EJ Sligo All-Stars and UCD Marian play Energywise Ireland Neptune.

2024/25 Domino’s Super League champions UCC Demons start life with Stuart Rodgers in the hotseat by hosting Griffith College Éanna on October 4.

Trinity Meteors, who won their first league title since 1992/93 when they defeated Career Decisions UCC Glanmire 87-81 in the Domino’s Women’s Super League playoff final, begin their defence by hosting the Cork side on October 3.

Domino’s WSL National Cup champions Killester start their league campaign against Utility Trust St. Paul’s. The two sides finished first and second respectively in the 2025/26 regular season standings, with matching 14-4 records. 

Limerick Celtics' first ever Domino’s Women’s Super League game sees them travel to last season’s Cup runners-up FloMAX Liffey Celtics. Gurranabraher Credit Union Brunell begin with a home game against SETU Waterford Wildcats, while Portlaoise Panthers host VSC Cavan Eagles.
