McInerney’s late winner sees Bandon into Peard Cup final after seven-goal thriller

Bandon and C of I B will contest the Peard Cup final on St Stephen’s Day after winning their respective semi-finals on Saturday.
Bandon edged a thrilling contest 4–3 after a fast start saw them race into a two-goal lead through Ethan Hamilton’s early strikes.
Quins battled back, with Julian Dale converting from a corner and later scoring a solo effort before Bandon added a third through Ali Smith.
Dale completed his hat-trick in the third quarter to level the match at 3–3 heading into a tense finale. With six minutes remaining, right back Ben McInerney ghosted into the D to secure victory as Bandon held firm against late Quins pressure.

C of B had a more straightforward win in their semi-final overcoming Midleton 3-0.
The status quo remains in women’s Munster Division 1, but only just.
A Lauren Cripps goal gave UCC a narrow 1-0 win over third placed Crescent to keep them top for Christmas. Harlequins young guns Joy Sampson, Lily Maye Kelleher and Freya Bateman each scored again as they overcame Catholic Institute B 3-0 to keep pace with the students. Bandon lifted themselves off the foot of the table with a 2-1 win over Waterford.
