Neptune have announced Ciarán Kiveney as their new head coach. Kiveney succeeds Keith Daly who departed the role last week. He makes the move following a successful spell with Galway club, Titans.

"It’s an incredible honour to take on the head coach position at a club with such a rich tradition and history," said Kiveney. "Neptune has a proud history in Irish basketball, and I’m excited to build on that legacy with hard work, teamwork, and a shared commitment to success. I can’t wait to get started with the players and staff, and meet the club's many supporters.”

In a statement, Neptune said that at Titans, Kiveney "established a reputation for developing young talent" and that he "brings with him a wealth of coaching experience and a deep understanding of Irish basketball".

"Known for his dynamic leadership and commitment to player development, he has been instrumental in elevating standards both on and off the court at every level he’s coached including Ireland underage programmes. His appointment marks a new chapter for Neptune at the club."

Neptune have had a poor start to the season. They sit bottom of the Super League with one win from six games.

"Ciarán’s passion and experience align perfectly with the club," said Energywise Ireland Neptune chairman Ian O'Brien. "We believe he will play a key role in driving our senior team forward and inspiring the next generation of Neptune players."
