Damage caused after clouting some bedrock that led to oil seeping from the engine of their M-Sport Ford Puma Rally1 brought a premature end to the hopes of Irish pair Josh McErlean and Eoin Treacy in the Euno Rally del Paraguay, the 10th round of the World Rally Championship. They retired from seventh place but were able to re-join the event on the final leg under Super Rally getting some valuable seat time on what was a new event in the WRC.

At the finish, McErlean said, "Definitely a character-building weekend, but it's a shame about yesterday. I think we had the mentality, the long-term vision to get through the event nicely."
