Jenny Lehane targeting World and Olympic medals after one-off Paris taster

The climb is always steepest approaching the summit. It’s a fact of life that has revealed itself to Jenny Lehane these last 12 months with the Ashbourne fighter’s one-and-done experiences at the Olympic Games and IBA Women’s World Championships.

The 27-year-old southpaw lost a 5-0 decision to China’s Chang Yuan in her opening bout at the Paris Games last year. Chang ultimately went on to take gold. Thailand’s Natnicha Chongprongklang doubled that dose in Serbia in the spring before claiming a bronze.
