Eddie Dunbar's maiden Tour de France has been cut short due to an injury suffered in a crash that occurred late in Friday's stage.

28-year-old Dunbar got caught up in a large pileup, and although the Banteer cyclist did continue thereafter, he has since been forced to opt out of the race, having not started Saturday's stage eight.
