Aidan Murphy finished impressively to earn the right to put his name on the Bold Thady Quill Cup at the expense of James O’Donovan and Gary Daly at Ballinagree.

Daly shaded the opening two shot to light. Murphy played a brilliant third to Timmy’s wall to snatch a 50m lead. O’Donovan clipped that to 10m in the following two to light, Daly was now almost a bowl behind. O’Donovan got a super shot past An Capaillín Bán cross to lead Murphy by 50m. He then beat a brilliant bowl from Murphy to extend his lead to 90m. Murphy’s next shot was unlucky and he now was almost a bowl down.
