Sport Ireland’s anti-doping unit performed a record number of drug tests last year, though it came at a record cost of €2.8 million. 

Over €500,000 was spent on salaries in its anti-doping department, a 30% increase on the previous year, while the amount invested in high-performance sport rose from €24 million to €25 million, an increase of 4%.
