Claire Melia not only made history Thursday night, becoming the first Irish female basketball player to play in a professional European semi-final, but she led the game with 27 points to seal a 31-point victory for Baxi Ferrol.

The 25-year-old was recruited by head coach Lino López who first contacted Claire in 2022. However Melia remained in Ireland following the sudden passing of her mother Shirley.
