More than pride on the line for Akinola's showdown with rival Olatunde

The pair will face off in the 60m at the National Indoor Championships this weekend.

Motivation can be gleaned from many sources. Bori Akinola certainly isn’t lacking in that department, but whenever his will starts to wane, when fatigue takes control of his thoughts, coach Adam McMullen offers a gentle reminder.

“Every time there’s a training session that’s tough, a line he says is, ‘Israel wouldn’t be complaining, Israel would get the reps done,’” says Akinola.
