Martin Coppinger opens the defence of his Munster senior championship title against Denis O’Sullivan in what is one among a host of novel first round pairings.

All four of the newer Gen Z players were drawn apart and will face one of the old guard. O’Sullivan, arguably, has the toughest assignment against the defending champion. However, the Killarney man is a special talent. He has a gold standard style, with oodles of speed and accuracy. The most important weapon in his armoury though is his sangfroid. He showed amazing composure and focus when facing down the high-stakes call in his All-Ireland junior A win over Gene McVeigh at Eglish in 2023.
