A closely fought Skibbereen "100 Isles" Navigation Trial in West Cork resulted in a three-way tie for top spot that was ultimately decided on the "furthest cleanest" rule that gave victory to Caherdaniel domiciled Corkonian Michael "Bones"O'Connor and his Drinagh navigator Denis O'Donovan. The Clare/Sligo crew of Patsy McDonagh/Patrick Corcoran were second from Ovens driver Owen Murphy, who was navigated by Donoughmore's Patrick O'Sullivan. The all-Subaru Impreza trio finished the 85-mile route with just five penalties each.
The event dovetailed as the sixth round of the Motorsport Ireland National Navigation Trial Championship and the final and deciding round of the Munster Navigation series that was won by McDonagh/Corcoran.
