Refuelling zones issues drag on with MI affiliated clubs claiming operational difficulties

As the Donegal Forest Rally (February 16th) becomes the latest event to be postponed due to the impact of Storm Éowyn, issues in relation refuelling zones for rallies organised under the control of Motorsport Ireland continue to drag with some MI affiliated clubs claiming operational difficulties.

Clubs were informed on Wednesday last of the outcome of a meeting of the Motor Sport Council, that was attended by a representative of MIS Commercial (Motorsport Ireland’s insurance broker), who confirmed refuel areas on stage rallies must be a minimum of two kilometres from the service area.
