Shane Ryan is through to the Backstroke final at the World Aquatic Swimming Championships at the Duna Arena in Budapest as Ellen Walshe breaks her sixth Irish Record and Danielle Hill moves up to eleventh in world rankings.

Ryan improved on his time from Thursday mornings heats in the 50m Backstroke to make Friday evenings final which his the 30-year-olds first World final since the World Championships in 2018.
