The weather claimed the big game in Munster as UCC and Catholic Institute women will have to refix their tie. It was the same case for the men’s fixture between Bandon and Church of Ireland.

However there were plenty of fixtures that evaded the worst of the weather.

In the standout match of the Men’s EYHL 1, Lisnagarvey overcame Three Rock Rovers 3-1 to leapfrog their opponents into top spot.

A second-quarter drag flick from Andy Williamson broke the deadlock, followed by Ben Nelson’s strike at the start of the third quarter. James Lorimer made it 3-0 before Luke Madeley scored a last-play consolation for the Rovers.

Meanwhile, Banbridge maintained their chase for the top with a commanding 5-1 victory over Corinthians, keeping the pressure on Lisnagarvey and Three Rock Rovers.

In men’s Munster Division 1 a brace from Jack Stockil helped Catholic Institute men to a convincing 5-1 win over Waterford.

In women’s EYHL 1 table toppers Loreto slipped up for the third consecutive week as they let a three goal lead go in a 3-3 draw with Ulster Elks. Elks grabbed the bonus point too. This allowed Old Alex and Railway Union to close the gap.

Alex drew with UCD with the same scoreline but crucially took the bonus point and Railway beat local rivals Pembroke Wanderers 3-0.

In Women’s Munster Division 1, Harlequins maintained their flawless record with an eighth consecutive win, defeating Church of Ireland 3-0 in challenging conditions.

Anne O’Farrell opened the scoring in the first quarter following excellent work from Yvonne O’Byrne and added another in the second quarter after Alex Dale’s assist. Despite a spirited response from Church of Ireland in the third quarter, Joy Sampson sealed the win with her seventh goal of the season late on.

Waterford women continued their drive for an EYHL 2 position next season as they overcame Crescent 3-2 to open up a 10-point gap between themselves and Crescent in third place.
