The IABA have voted to remove any references to the controversial global body, the International Boxing Association, in a move that will likely help Ireland's chances of competing at the Los Angeles Games in four years time. 

While the future of the sport at the Olympics remains far from certain, the IABA's continuing links with the disgraced IBA, which has been all but blacklisted by the International Olympic Committee, meant Ireland was at risk of being left very much on the fringes of any progress made.
