Caldwell manages conditions to take Clare Forest Rally spoils 

The Waterford/Blackpool duo of Andrew Purcell/Liam Brennan (Ford Fiesta R5) took second place, 4.3s ahead of the Monaghan/Cork crew of Derek Mackarel/Eamonn Creedon (Ford Fiesta R5).

Strabane’s Ryan Caldwell and co-driver Stephen O’Hanlon took their R317 Motorsport run Skoda Fabia R5 to a 5.8s victory in the Scariff-based Clare Forest Rally, the sixth and final round of the Sligo Pallets Irish Forest Rally Championship. 

In wet and often difficult conditions and after a cautious opening stage, they moved into the second after SS2 and took the lead on the third stage.
