Curtin lost to Mallon in last year’s All-Ireland final in Eglish.
The absence of 11 times All-Ireland champion Kelly Mallon will breathe an air of hope and excitement in the preparations of Geraldine Curtin and Dervla Mallon ahead of tomorrow’s All-Ireland senior women’s final at Castletownkenneigh. They must feel like the Cork and Clare hurlers felt after Limerick’s elimination from the All-Ireland hurling championship.
Curtin lost to Mallon in last year’s All-Ireland final in Eglish. Mallon established early dominance in that contest and although Curtin bowled on strongly, she could never undo that damage. She has some very strong credentials coming into this final, regardless of her opponent.
