If you want to run fast, Monaco has long been the place to go. And with three weeks left until the athletics programme gets on its marks at the Paris Olympics, Rhasidat Adeleke and Ciara Mageean will be hoping to do just that at the Diamond League meeting tonight.

A sub-par run tonight would not spell disaster, given they’re both still knee-deep in heavy training, but a good run will certainly bode well for their chances at the Games. Adeleke will race the 400m at 7.15pm Irish time and with all three of last year’s world medallists absent, she’ll fancy her chances of taking a first Diamond League win.
