David Hegarty snatches spot in the Munster Junior B Bowling semi-final

Lost in the recent monsoon deluge of championship scores was David Hegarty’s sensational win over Michael-John O’Brien at Baile Bhuirne.

Not only did Hegarty snatch a spot in the Munster Junior B semi-final with his final act, but it was also his only lead of the day. All looked lost when his 13th bowl missed the line by 10m, handing what looked inevitable victory to O’Brien. It was unlucky 13 for O’Brien too as his bowl drifted right and missed the line by less than a metre.
