There was disappointment in Rally Poland for the Irish crew of Kesh driver Josh McErlean and his Cavan co-driver James Fulton, who were forced to retire after they clipped a bale and then hit a tree that ripped the rear right wheel from their Toksport run Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 on the first stage of the third and final leg.
They had begun the stage fourth in the WRC2 category with the prospect of another podium finish a realistic opportunity.
