Sonia O’Sullivan was in Spain last week and couldn’t help but notice that the Olympics didn’t seem to be on anyone’s radar. Maybe it’s got something to do with the national men’s soccer team’s ongoing business as Euro 2024.

The contrast with Ireland, where we don’t even have a manager for our senior men’s football side, could hardly be greater. O’Sullivan has seen that first-hand on the back of the recent European Athletic Championships in Rome.
