Less than a month to Paris but Team Ireland is already pushing new boundaries. There are something in the region of 130 athletes confirmed or just waiting on their paperwork to be stamped. More again are still striving for times or points to earn last-minute invites.

The largest contingent this country ever sent to an Olympics was the 116 men and women who defied covid to make Tokyo. Four reserves saw action too before it ended and the athletes dispersed with four medals logged into the record books.
