Disaster for Olympic 800m champion Athing Mu as she crashes out in US trials

Mu was one of the leading contenders for the 800m Olympic gold in Paris.

Olympic 800m champion Athing Mu will miss out on the chance to defend her title in Paris after she fell in the qualifying race at the United States' team trials and finished last.

Mu, who won bronze at last year's World Championships, had been struggling with a hamstring problem which delayed the start of her season, but finished third in her heat at the event in Eugene, Oregon before winning the semi-final.
