Clare Cryan had no idea going into her last dive in the 3m springboard at that she was in contention for a medal. The Sheffield-born 30-year-old claimed bronze, Ireland's first ever diving medal at the European Aquatics Championships.

She combined for 240.55 points over the five rounds as she finished 2.65 behind silver medallist Helle Tuxen of Norway. There was no doubt about the winner, Great Britain's Desharne Bent-Ashmeil, who was 61.95 clear of Tuxen.
