Kieran Murphy and Michael Murphy will face-off in the Munster Junior A final at Castletownkenneigh on Friday week, June 28 in what will be one of the highlights of championship 2024.
At Ballinagree, Irish international, Michael Murphy, ended the sensational championship run of Noel O’Regan, who had not been beaten in Munster since he started out in Junior B in 2023. He looked likely to extend his winning streak following a positive start. He was 30m fore after the first shots to the lane and he extended that to 80m with a good second bowl through the cross. Things looked even rosier when Murphy beat that tip by just 40m. He didn’t consolidate his lead as his third bowl drifted left. That trend continued in the next four exchanges, with Murphy failing to fire and O’Regan not taking advantage.
