Ireland’s boxing squad for this summer’s Paris Olympics has mushroomed following wins for Jenny Lehane, Grainne Walsh, Daina Moorehouse and Aidan Walsh at the last-chance qualifying tournament in Bangkok on Sunday.

For Grainne Walsh this is an achievement all the sweeter for the hoops she has had to jump through. A number of hand injuries hampered her bid at first and she was horrendously unlucky to lose a verdict in in the deciding bout in the previous qualifiers in Milan earlier this year.
