Denis O’Sullivan made a positive start to his Munster intermediate career when he fashioned a clear win over former senior champion Philip O’Donovan at Grenagh.

He led all the way having opened with a big bowl. O’Donovan got an average second shot, but O’Sullivan beat it comprehensively to extend his lead to almost a bowl. He was comfortably in control from there. He had a bowl after 11 and raised a second one in the next three to the novice line. He was never troubled after that.
