One last shot for Kelyn Cassidy in Thailand as he vies for Paris Olympics 

Waterford boxer Cassidy has come close twice in the past year. He made it to the quarter-finals at the European Games in Krakow last June and the same stage again at the qualification tournament in Italy

One final shot. On Tuesday, Kelyn Cassidy jetted off to Thailand as part of a seven-strong team to compete in the final boxing qualifier for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Six boxers have already qualified for Paris. From the outset, the IABA said their goal was to secure eight spots. 80kg Cassidy is joined by several other hopefuls: Tokyo bronze medallist Aidan Walsh (71kg), Daina Moorehouse (50kg), Jennifer Lehane (54kg), Sean Mari (51kg), Grainne Walsh (66kg) and Martin McDonagh (92kg+).
