There may be a few small tweaks, but this year’s Irish Life Dublin Marathon will have a familiar feel, starting and finishing in the heart of the city despite fears it would be pushed into the suburbs.

Due to public transport and traffic disruptions, both Dublin City Council and the National Transport Authority (NTA) sought a commitment from organisers last year that the 2024 race would be moved away from Merrion Square North, but they’ve since come to an agreement for this year’s event on Sunday, October 27, to begin on Leeson Street Lower and finish on Mount Street Upper.
