Rhasidat Adeleke got her outdoor season off to a flying start with a blazing relay performance alongside her training partners at the Texas Relays in Austin on Saturday.
The Dubliner ran the second leg in the 4x200m relay on Team International, a quartet that included Julien Alfred, Lanae Thomas and Dina Asher-Smith – who all train under coach Edrick Floreal – and they came home four seconds clear in 1:27.05. That was quicker than the current world record of 1:27.46, run by a US quartet at the Penn Relays in 2000, but because the four are not the same nationality, it will not count as a world record.
