Ireland will send a team of eight athletes to the World Cross Country Championships in Belgrade on March 30, though two-time European champion Fionnuala McCormack will not be among them.

The 39-year-old was Ireland’s top performer at senior level at the European Cross Country Championships in Brussels last December, finishing fourth just seven days after clocking a 2:26:19 marathon in Valencia.
