Every championship needs a home win to truly ignite, and the Emirates Arena in Glasgow should reach a raucous level on Saturday as Scottish stars Josh Kerr and Laura Muir go for gold over 3000m.
Kerr, the reigning world champion over 1500m, struck a typically confident tone on Thursday as he assessed his chances at the World Indoor Championships. “I’m in fantastic shape and I think I’m going to be a real problem for whoever’s on that start list,” he said, having set a world best for two miles last month.
