Luke Littler's hopes of winning another PDC title are over after he was beaten by Cork bus driver Radek Szaganski on the second day of the Players Championship.

Szaganski surprised many by reaching the second round of the World Darts Championship before Christmas but his memorable journey was ended by five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld.

And the Cobh based dartist has again showcased his quality as he ended Littler's hopes of making it back-to-back Pro Tour successes by defeating the World Championship runner-up 6-5 on Tuesday in Wigan.

Littler was unable to clean up within six visits in the deciding leg, giving Szaganski the opportunity to claim the victory and add another big name to his list of scalps.

The Poznan native moved to Ireland in 2006 to help fund his wedding and has settled in Cork ever since, working as a driver for Bus Éireann.
