Minister says no contact yet about Taylor trilogy

NO CONTACT: Minister Byrne said he has had no communication from anyone representing Taylor since January 2023.

THE Minister of State for Sport, Thomas Byrne, has poured cold water on suggestions that the government is about to receive and back a feasibility study that will set up Katie Taylor’s next fight in Croke Park this summer.

It is believed that Taylor’s promoter Matchroom is compiling a report to see if the Irish government will help part-fund the third part of her trilogy with Chantelle Cameron which has been on the cards since her thrilling re-match victory at the 3Arena last November.
