Belgian Thierry Neuville (Hyundai i20 Rally1) made the perfect start to his World Rally Championship title bid with victory and maximum points on Rallye Monte Carlo. Notching his second victory on the iconic event, he finished 16.1s ahead of nine-time event winner Sebastien Ogier (Toyota Yaris Rally1). Welsh ace Elfyn Evans, who set the early pace saw his challenge fade due to issues with his Toyota Yaris Rally1 and finished another 29.1s behind. The result mirrored Neuville’s victory in Monte Carlo in 2020 when he also finished ahead of Ogier and Evans.
