A painful shoot-out defeat against hosts Spain in a game they dominated, followed by a late, gritty 2-1 defeat against Great Britain.
Handed two chances to qualify for Paris 2024, Ireland ultimately fell short on Saturday and captain Katie Mullan spoke in the aftermath of “heartbreak” and “devastation” at being unable to lead the Green Army to this summer’s Olympics.
