Warriors beat KCYMS in Castleisland Christmas Basketball blitz final

Warriors edged out a thrilling 52-47 win thanks to their shooting star Ryan Leonard.

Warriors narrowly beat out Flexachem by 5 points.

At around the time on Saturday night that the Men's Superleague clash tips off in Tralee between Warriors and Neptune, twelve miles north, the 52nd annual St Mary’s Christmas Basketball blitz will be reaching a crescendo in Castleisland. There are four Superleague games on Saturday; that the schedule hasn't been cleared by Basketball Ireland to allow Castleisland the full breadth of the sport's canvas is a matter of some frustration.

Basketball in this country has come through some troubled times over the past five decades but Castleisland at Christmas has been the constant, extending from one to five rollicking days, culminating in Saturday's finals.
