THE last two Saturdays in May were dark times for Irish boxing with Katie Taylor losing out to Chantelle Cameron and then Michael Conlan falling to IBF featherweight champion Luis Alberto Lopez.

But last weekend, Taylor came through in her rematch against Cameron to become a two-weight undisputed champion and although Conlan won't have a world title on offer this Saturday when he faces Jordan Gill at the SSE Arena, he is drawing inspiration from the Bray woman whom he considers "Ireland's greatest ever athlete".
