Kellie Harrington made history in Dublin on Saturday night as she clinched a record 11th Irish title at the IABA National Elite Boxing Championships 2024 Finals — only to see Olympic teammate Michaela Walsh join her in the record books a couple of hours later.

Tokyo gold medalist Harrington broke the previous mark of 10 national victories when she saw off Zara Breslin from Tramore, 5-0, in the 60kg decider early on Saturday's slate at the National Stadium on the South Circular Road. Less than three hours later it was the turn of Walsh, the Commonwealth Games gold medalist from Belfast's Holy Family, who won a unanimous decision against Kellie McLoughlin of St Catherines for an 11th senior triumph of her own.
