Mackle scoops fifth King of the Roads title

He is now second on the roll of honour, just one behind Murphy.

Thomas Mackle won his fifth Hurley’s of Midleton King of the Roads, defeating David Murphy in a compelling contest in driving wind and rain at Ballincurrig.

Both players drove at each other in a classic shoot-out, it was done and dusted in a near record 80 minutes. Murphy won the first shot, but after that it was all Mackle.
